Job description

Summary

Directs all Human Resources functions for TIMET’s Toronto, Ohio facility.

Essential Functions

  1. Responsible for strategic leadership of human resources activities to support specific business and organizational objectives.
  2. Formulate, develop, recommend, and administer core HR strategies, policies, and procedures to protect and leverage the interests of the company and its employees.
  3. Communicate and interpret policies to facilitate understanding, acceptance, and consistent application throughout the organization.
  4. Manage all labor relations activities, including processing grievances through arbitration and contract negotiations.
  5. Train and coach supervisors and managers in interpreting and administering collective bargaining agreements.
  6. Facilitate staffing processes to identify optimal recruiting strategies, ensuring the hiring of top-quality candidates with diverse backgrounds in a timely manner to support growth and expansion.
  7. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including EEO, ERISA, FMLA, ADA, and OSHA regulations.
  8. Collaborate with the Corporate Manager of Compensation & Benefits to develop and administer compensation and benefits programs, ensuring competitiveness and cost-effectiveness.
  9. Serve as the primary HR contact for managers and supervisors, providing support, service, and counsel.
  10. Develop annual HR plans and budgets aligned with business objectives.
  11. Work with HR team members across the organization to identify opportunities for improving business results through HR initiatives.
  12. Assist in developing and implementing organizational development and design strategies in collaboration with the Global Director of Organizational Development.
  13. Support training and development initiatives.
  14. Establish and maintain an employee communication program to ensure effective information flow.
  15. Develop, implement, and manage an HR information system (HRIS).

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or BA in HR or Labor Relations preferred.

PHR/SPHR certification is a plus.

Minimum of 4-6 years supervisory/management experience in an HR generalist role.

Experience with collective bargaining agreement administration, grievance handling, and disciplinary procedures.

Special Skills

Strong business acumen and understanding of HR’s contribution to organizational performance.

Ability to influence senior management and lead organizational change.

Experience in organizational development, change management, and strategic thinking.

Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, and presentation skills.

Proficiency in MS Office, HRIS systems, and payroll software.

Knowledge of employment laws including ADA, FMLA, FLSA, and HIPAA.

Additional Notes
