Job summary

A community healthcare provider is looking for a compassionate Home Support Worker in Essex County. You will assist clients with daily tasks and provide personal care. This part-time role includes comprehensive training and the opportunity for benefits as you help others live safely in their homes. Qualifications

  • Ability to pass a Criminal Background screening upon hire.
  • Previous experience performing personal hygiene care is an asset but not necessary.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Travel from patient to patient completing several home visits per day.
  • Prepare meals and assist with meal-time.
  • Provide companionship and support the well-being of patients.
  • Assist with personal hygiene care including showering and bathing.

Overview

As a Home Support Worker, you will assist people in your community to live safely in their homes by supporting them with daily tasks and self-care activities.

You will receive free and paid training in a full time 3 week in-class program designed to teach you the skills needed to work as a Home Support Worker. Upon graduation you will be eligible for part-time hours and benefits.

What You’ll Do
  • travel from patient to patient completing several home visits per day
  • Prepare meals and assist with meal-time

  • Support for basic activities of daily living

This is a Union Position – Service Employees International Union Local 1 Canada, Windsor Essex County

Union Classification: Personal Support Services (PSS)

Salary: LHIN Funded PSS Rates as per Collective Agreement

Location: County Area, Erie St. Clair District
