About the Role
Job Title: home child care provider
Employer: Garabetian Family
Location: Oakville, ON L6J 4T9 (Work location: On site)
Salary: $20.85 hourly / 30 to 40 hours per week
Term of Employment: Permanent, full time
Start: As soon as possible
Responsibilities
- Assume full responsibility for household in absence of parents
- Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
- Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents
- Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home
- Organize activities such as games and outings for children
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals
- Prepare infants and children for rest periods
- Supervise and care for children
- Tend to emotional well‑being of children
Required Qualifications
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
- Experience an asset
- Client focus, initiative, organized, reliability, team player, time management, patience
- Criminal record check
- Weight handling: Up to 9 kg (20 lbs)
- Transportation: Public transportation is available
Work Conditions
- Work site environment: Non‑smoking, scent
- Work setting: Employer's home, optional accommodation available at no charge on a live‑in basis (note: this is NOT a condition of employment)
