Qualifications

Wage Rate: $30- $40/hour based on experience and ticket/training

Reports to: Heavy Equipment Technician Lead-hand and Fleet Maintenance Supervisor

Job Summary

Mount Washington Alpine Resort is looking for a Heavy Equipment Technician to keep our snow cats, fleet vehicles, sleds, and ATVs running strong. Our machines run up to 16 hours a day, so your skills will keep the mountain moving! Shifts are four 10-hour days, with summer Mon–Fri and winter 7-day coverage (everyone gets in one weekend day). Extra hours? Always an option. One day you’re fixing hydraulic hoses, the next rescuing a machine off a slope—it’s never boring.

Preference given to a Red Seal Certified Technician, though applications from apprentices at all stages are welcomed. If you seek a long-term role to be an important contributor to a team. If you like snow and being outdoors. This position is ideal for anyone seeking a healthy work/life balance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reporting to the Lead Hand or Foreman.
  • Daily tasks will include talking to Grooming operators about issues or possible damages
  • Updating our maintenance board daily with hours and status of equipment
  • Keeping accurate records of repair information
  • Working on a variety of automotive, heavy equipment and small engines equipment
  • Lifting and carrying parts and pieces up to 50 lbs
  • Performing tasks in all weather conditions
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
  • Validating repairs on equipment
Qualifications
  • A registered apprentice with previous experience working in the HET trade
  • Experience with automotive and small engine mechanics required
  • Class 5 driver’s license with a clean abstract
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Excellent problem solving
  • Has safety as their priority
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical and hydraulic issues
  • Experience troubleshooting CAN Bus issues
  • Experience with Cummins INSITE and CAT ET
  • Equipment operation experience considered an asset
  • Air Brake endorsement considered an asset
  • CVIP considered an asset
