Position Overview

Reporting to the Sr. Health, Safety & Environment Advisor, the Health, Safety & Environment Coordinator - Manufacturing is responsible for supporting the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of health, safety, and environmental programs across the organization. This role ensures compliance with relevant legislation and regulations while promoting a strong safety culture throughout the company.

Key Responsibilities
  • In collaboration with the Senior Advisor, develops and maintains HSE policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and industry best practices.
  • Conducts regular workplace inspections and audits to identify hazards, assess risks, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Investigates accidents, incidents, and near‑misses to determine root causes and implement preventative measures.
  • Coordinates and delivers HSE training programs to employees at all levels, including onboarding, toolbox talks, and specialized safety courses.
  • Maintains detailed records of incidents, training, inspections, and corrective actions for regulatory reporting and organizational learning.
  • Collaborates with management and employees to develop and promote a positive safety culture that encourages hazard reporting and continuous improvement.
  • Serves as a point of contact for HSE concerns and provides guidance on safety‑related questions and procedures.
  • Prepares HSE reports and statistics for management review, highlighting trends and recommending improvements.
  • Maintains compliance with environmental regulations and assists in waste management, emissions monitoring, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • A combination of related education and 1-3 years of HSE experience in Ontario manufacturing environments.
  • JHSC certification preferred.
  • Experience with HSE management systems and Ontario regulatory compliance.
  • Thorough knowledge of Ontario OHSA.
  • Proficiency in incident investigation techniques and root cause analysis.
  • Experience with HSE software systems and data analytics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity.
Location, Hours of Work & Working Conditions
  • Location: Niagara Region - Welland
  • Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 44 hours per week
  • Travel: Travel within the Niagara region
  • Working Conditions: Manufacturing Environment
  • Other: Occasional evenings or weekend work may be necessary for incident response, Ministry of Labour inspections, or project deadlines.
