The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Health Care Aide to join our Whitemud team on a temporary part-time (0.4 FTE) basis ending on January 2027. In this role, you will work with a team to provide inclusive, resident-centered care that promotes dignity and independence, under the direction of a Licensed Practical Nurse and Supervisor.

What you’ll do
  • Provide high-quality care in alignment with each resident’s individualized care plan.
  • Support daily living needs including personal hygiene, mobility, meals, and recreational activities.
  • Complete safe and appropriate medication assistance in accordance with current standards.
  • Perform authorized and delegated procedures to meet specific resident needs.
  • Communicate observations and concerns to nurses, AHS Case Managers, and other health professionals.
  • Accurately document service hours and all activities performed for residents.
Qualifications
  • Certified Health Care Aide, registered with the Alberta HCA Directory.
  • Experience with elderly, disabled, and palliative care preferred.
  • Delivers person-centered care and involves residents and families in care planning.
  • Demonstrates emotional intelligence and strong communication skills in English.
  • May be exposed to infectious diseases; follows safety protocols and hygiene standards.
