Job summary

A leading health authority in Ontario is looking for a Supervisor – Harm Reduction to develop and implement services addressing public health in First Nations communities. The role involves strategic planning, supervision, and collaboration with various stakeholders to promote harm reduction initiatives. An ideal candidate will have a health-related degree, relevant experience, and strong organizational skills. This full-time position is based in Sioux Lookout, Ontario.

Qualifications

• Valid Ontario’s driver’s license is required; Class G license.
• Experience in harm reduction and/or public health.
• Experience in health planning and project management.

Responsibilities

• Create a strategic plan and vision for the Harm Reduction service.
• Provide supervision and direction to the Harm Reduction Worker(s).
• Support communities in the introduction and/or expansion of harm reduction initiatives.

Skills

Excellent planning, organization, and time management skills

Professional integrity

Ability to communicate in First Nations dialects

Understanding of health determinants for First Nations

Team-oriented collaboration

Problem-solving and decision-making skills

Education

University degree/College Diploma in health-related field
