Job summary

A leading recruitment agency in Canada is seeking a Hardware Compliance Designer/Engineer to ensure complex electronic systems meet safety and certification standards. This hybrid role involves hands-on work in EMC, requiring at least a degree in Electrical Engineering. The position is initially contracted for 4-6 months, with the possibility of extension. Responsibilities include preparing detailed documentation and supporting environmental tests. Ideal candidates should have EMC experience and be comfortable with electronic hardware.

Qualifications

  • Experience in hardware certification processes.
  • Experience in railway signaling is a plus, but candidates from aerospace, avionics, automotive, industrial electronics, or certification labs are also welcome.

Overview

Join our client’s team as a Hardware Compliance Designer / Engineer, where you’ll help ensure complex electronic systems meet required safety and certification standards. This role is hands-on and technical, with a strong focus on EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) and hardware compliance rather than pure electrical design.

Contract and Location

This is a contract position (initially 4-6 months) with a strong possibility of extension or conversion to permanent. The role is hybrid, with onsite work required for testing and lab activities—especially during onboarding.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and support EMC and environmental tests (such as temperature and vibration).
  • Work with electronic test equipment.
  • Prepare clear, detailed documentation including test plans, procedures, reports, and EMC analysis.
  • With experience, participate in customer discussions to help explain results and compliance outcomes.
Qualifications
  • Hands-on EMC experience and a solid understanding of hardware certification processes.
  • Experience in railway signaling is a plus, but candidates from aerospace, avionics, automotive, industrial electronics, or certification labs are welcome.
  • Comfortable working with electronic hardware, able to document your work clearly, and confident communicating technical information.

Compensation

Hourly Rate Range: $55-$58
