Job Summary
We are seeking a highly professional and empathetic HR Business Partner (HRBP) to serve as a trusted advisor to their assigned client groups. Reporting directly to the Director, People and Organizational Development, you will be a key partner in the management, strategic planning, and coaching of your client groups. This role supports employees throughout their full lifecycle, ensuring fairness, legal compliance, and fostering a positive work environment, with a strong focus on adherence to Quebec labour standards.
Main Responsibilities
- Advisory Role: Serve as a trusted advisor to first-level managers, offering coaching and guidance on performance management, employee development, and conflict resolution.
- Policy Expertise: Act as a subject matter expert, advising and supporting managers and employees in the interpretation and application of various HR policies, best practices, processes, and initiatives.
- Employee Relations Expert: Proactively manage and resolve employee relations issues, including participation in internal investigations and the administration of corrective actions.
- Compliance: Maintain expert-level knowledge and understanding of all relevant federal and Quebec labour standards and regulations.
- Talent Strategy: Advise and support managers on talent and performance management, including participation in talent assessments, performance review follow-ups, and discussions around succession planning, utilizing available talent mapping tools.
- Partnership: Cultivate: Cultivate strong, collaborative partnerships with internal HR Specialists/Partners to ensure consistent and high-quality service delivery across the organization.
- Strategic Metrics: Establish and monitor key HR performance indicators and conduct competitive intelligence/market analysis to drive program improvements.
- Solutions Development: Design and implement innovative solutions to address departmental challenges related to attrition, retention, engagement, and leadership development.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or equivalent.
- Experience: 5+ years of progressive experience in a similar HRBP or Generalist role, with a strong focus on employee relations.
- Bilingualism: Bilingualism (French and English) is required for daily communication with suppliers, employees, and stakeholders, both within and outside of Quebec.
- Legal Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of labour standards in Quebec.
- Core Skills: Proven ability to coach, solve problems, and work independently in a fast-paced environment, combined with strong interpersonal skills (patience and active listening).
- Technical: Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Certification: CHRA membership is an asset.
