The Position

As a Software Developer with Branch Innovations, you will be an integral part of our dynamic Innovation Team. This role is designed for a highly motivated individual with a passion for innovation and technology, eager to gain real-world experience within an innovative business environment. Based in St. John’s, NL, the Software Developer will work closely and collaborate with all members of the Innovation Division to support various projects, initiatives, and commercial products within our portfolio.

This role will support a range of active projects and software initiatives at Branch, with specific assignments based on overall need, project priorities, and alignment of skills.

Specific responsibilities for this role include:

  • Build, test, and deploy automations and process improvements.
  • Support software and data integrations.
  • Program and develop software solutions.
  • Debug and reprogram technical systems.
  • Engage with stakeholders and partners to gather information and data crucial for development.
  • Assist in implementation planning, testing, and demoing to inform technology selection.
  • Research and analyze the latest technology trends.
  • Provide data-related analysis and services for healthcare organizations.
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • A post-secondary degree/diploma from a recognized institution in Software Development, Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant equivalency.
  • Technical knowledge of computer and information technology programming.
  • Technical knowledge of designing and repairing websites.
  • Expertise in problem-solving and coming up with creative solutions to technological problems.
  • Ability to read and write code, with specific experience and expertise working with: Microsoft Power Platform; Python; JavaScript; MongoDB; SQL; React; ExpressJS
  • Advanced written and oral communication skills.
  • Customer service skills, providing explanations of complex computer systems to the client.
  • Ability to learn quickly and complete research if needed.
Eligibility Requirements:
  • Ability to work full-time in Newfoundland and Labrador starting January 2026.
  • Legally entitled to work full-time in Newfoundland and Labrador.
  • Completion (within the past two years) of a minimum one-year post-secondary or skills-training program at a recognized NL institution (e.g., MUN, CNA, Keyin College, Get Building, etc.).
  • Not currently enrolled as a full-time student.
