Do you love all things golf? Ever wanted to work and play on Canada’s highest-elevation golf course? We are looking to recruit a Golf Pro Shop Lead for the upcoming Summer. You will work with the Golf Operations team to create a professional and respectful environment for both guests and employees. The ideal applicant is happy to work indoors and outdoors in a mountain environment in varying weather conditions. Compensation Information

$22.10 per hour

Physical Requirement

Medium, Indoor and Outdoor.

  • Walking, standing, bending, crouching and twisting for periods of time.
  • Ability to work in various conditions, including inside the shop, underground in the garage space, and outside.
  • Exposure to heat, rain, smoke, and noise.
  • Lifting – Exerting 20+ kg of strength occasionally, and/or 10 kg of strength frequently or constantly to move objects.

This job position requires physical presence at the designated location.

Skills you bring with you
  • Previous experience in retail and sales an asset.
  • Strategic decision-making, conflict resolution and organizational skills.
  • Experience leading and motivating a team collaboratively, and with respectful communication.
  • Knowledgeable in a variety of communication styles and conflict resolution approaches.
  • Familiar with operating a Point of Sale and Tee Sheet System, and administrative processes.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to react and handle multiple demands (anticipate and respond).
  • Fundamental knowledge of golf is an asset.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Understand, follow, and enforce golf policies and procedures to ensure smooth, consistent, and efficient operations.
  • Ensure all guests have completed relevant information, e-mail, credit card, waivers, etc.
  • Leadership: lead by example and support team growth to develop a welcoming, respectful, professional, and service focused environment.
    • Adapt to different learning and communication styles of employees and guests.
  • Point of Sale System: perform and monitor bookings, sales transactions, equipment rentals, cash handling, and open and closing duties with diligence and care.
  • Obtain strong knowledge of all products and their benefits to assist guests with purchasing decisions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with members, guests, staff, and grounds crew.
  • Ensure Pro Shop and back of shop are clean, safe and presentable.
  • Record Keeping: monitor and report any damage or concerns immediately.
  • Operate according to the code of conduct, mission, and values of Sun Peaks Resort LLP and Golf Operations.
  • Health and Safety: immediate action required when concerns arise. Report to Manager.
