What youll be doing

Join our Global Markets team as a Student Analyst in this 4-month role and become part of a team focused on delivering innovative banking and investment solutions to CIBC\'s retail wealth and business clients including corporates governments and institutional clients around the world. Our goal remains to be the leading Capital Markets franchise in Canada and to work as one team to build our brand across North America and the world - proudly living our values as we work toward our vision to be the leader in client relationships.

Our Global Markets business comprises our sales trading structuring and research teams spanning cash and derivative products in foreign exchange commodities rates and equities in addition to securitization prime brokerage money markets and more.   • You are enrolled in an undergraduate degree in Commerce Mathematics Engineering Economics or related at the time of the internship with a graduation date no earlier than December 2026.

How youll succeed
  • Passion for financial markets. Demonstrate strong technical quantitative and analytical skills with keen interest in the financial markets and proven record of academic success, teamwork and extracurricular involvement.
  • Process oriented. Present detailed analysis, financial modeling, structuring and research to support senior professionals and help to identify opportunities to win business, execute transactions, automate existing processes and develop new businesses.
  • Communication. Partner with your team to make an impact by applying a technical skillset to help generate insights and/or optimize processes. Showcase highly effective written, oral and presentation skills with an ability to explain complex concepts.
  • Relationship management. Provide excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to contribute to high-performance teams and a demonstrated commitment to acting with integrity.
