Under the leadership of the Project Manager in our London, ON Office, the Geo-Environmental Engineer/Scientist will participate in the conception and development of various commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects in the Geotechnical and Environmental testing field.

Your Responsibilities
  • Carry out a wide range of Geotechnical and Environmental projects including Geotechnical Investigations, Phase I and Phase II ESA’s and Excess Soils Management projects.
  • Project coordination including arranging utility locates and site access, perform borehole layout.
  • Monitor geotechnical drilling, test pit excavations and soil sampling activities, including sample logging, soil sampling and monitoring well installation, using standard field methodologies and protocols under guidance of senior engineers/professionals.
  • Water level monitoring.
  • Prepare geotechnical reports with deliverables within submission deadline.
  • Collect samples for environmental (analytical) testing and prepare chain of custody form for submission to an independent laboratory.
  • Perform desktop studies, collect and interpret data, and prepare the Phase I, Phase II reports as well as reports (APU, SAP and SCR) for Excess Soils Management (O. Reg. 406/19).
  • Assist with Inspection and Testing projects from a review/reporting perspective.
The Skills, Knowledge, and Ability We Seek
  • Engineering Undergraduate Degree (Civil Engineering, Earth Science, Environmental Science, or Environmental Engineering)
  • Registered as a P.Eng. or P. Geo. is preferred, although EIT is acceptable.
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role preferred.
  • Good working knowledge of Excess Soils Management (O. Reg. 406/19) is a must.
  • Ability to understand and resolve problems while on construction sites.
  • Able to read drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to exercise diplomacy and tact when interacting with fellow staff, clients, consultants and contractors.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to write clear field reports, including making recommendations.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills as well as attention to detail.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for travel to construction sites as needed.
  • Must be a self-starter with ability to grow into a project manager role.

The salary range for this role is between $55K - $65K. The actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
