Job summary

A healthcare organization in Canada is seeking an experienced General Practitioner to take on the role of Lead GP. This position includes maintaining patient load while also providing clinical guidance and leadership to fellow doctors, mentoring medical students, and ensuring a high standard of medical care. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of general practice experience and fellowship with RACGP or ACRRM. Sponsorship may be available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years’ experience in general practice.
• Experience leading a clinical team is highly desirable.
• Accreditation as a GP Registrar Supervisor is preferred.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced General Practitioner to take the next step and expand their skills by moving into a clinical leadership role as this practice’s Lead GP. As well as maintaining your own patient load you will :

• Provide clinical guidance and leadership to our doctors.
• Conduct teaching, mentor and supervise our registrars, interns and medical students.
• Drive our accreditation and our practice and quality improvement processes.
• Recruit and orientate new clinical staff.
• Build strong relationships with external providers.
• As the Lead GP, you will provide strong clinical governance to ensure a high standard of medical care is maintained.
• Provide mentoring education and support to the medical workforce.
• Provide much needed appointments to the community by stepping in to a busy and fully booked GP clinic.

Qualifications & Experience

• Fellowship with either RACGP, ACRRM or equivalent.
• Current AHPRA Registration.
• A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in general practice.
• Experience leading a clinical team is highly desirable.
• Accreditation as a GP Registrar Supervisor (ACRRM and RACGP).
• Ability to work in Australia. Sponsorship may be available to the right candidate.
