- Lead all day-to-day resort operations, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and adherence to standards.
- Act as the senior on-site decision-maker, resolving operational issues in a remote environment.
- Oversee facilities, infrastructure, and systems to ensure safety, functionality, and guest readiness.
- Plan and execute seasonal opening and closing activities.
- Manage operational budgets, cost controls, and financial performance.
- Oversee all departments including front desk, housekeeping, food & beverage, guided fishing, dock operations, fish processing, and maintenance.
Leadership & People
- Lead, coach, and support a seasonal team with clear expectations and accountability.
- Partner with HR on recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and offboarding.
- Ensure comprehensive training, orientation, and safety compliance for all staff.
- Monitor team morale, engagement, and wellbeing, addressing issues proactively.
- Oversee staff housing and foster a positive, inclusive resort culture.
Guest Experience
- Set and model high standards for exceptional guest experiences.
- Serve as a visible guest service leader, addressing concerns and ensuring service recovery.
- Welcome guests on arrival and engage throughout their stay.
- Support guest communication, loyalty, and rebooking initiatives.
Administration & Safety
- Maintain clear communication with head office, vendors, and partners.
- Complete required reporting, payroll, scheduling, and financial documentation accurately and on time.
- Ensure compliance with safety, marine, and WorkSafeBC regulations.
- Lead emergency preparedness and promote a strong safety-first culture.
Requirements
- Post‑secondary education in hospitality/tourism or equivalent experience
- Proven leadership experience in hospitality, resort, or remote operations
- Strong financial acumen, including budgeting and reporting
- Exceptional guest service and communication skills
- Strong organizational, planning, and problem‑solving abilities
- Mechanical aptitude (generators, water systems, sewage/effluent systems)
- Knowledge of building and marina maintenance in a saltwater environment
- Ability to identify vessel deficiencies
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Experience with booking and operational systems (Maestro preferred)
- Valid driver’s licence
- Pleasure Craft Operator’s Card (PCOC)
- Small Vessel Operator Proficiency (SVOP)
- Marine Emergency Duties (MEDA3 or SDVBS)
- Restricted Radiotelephone Operator (ROC‑M)
- Advanced First Aid (OFA Level 3)
