Job summary

A northern mining company based in Nunavut is looking for maintainers for their Arctic operations. Positions available include Electrician, Millwright, and more. Candidates must have relevant trade tickets, previous remote working experience, and a professional attitude. This is a physically demanding role requiring outdoor work in all weather conditions. Competitive rotations of 3 weeks on and 3 weeks off are offered.

Responsibilities

• Perform all tasks assigned by the Supervisor.
• Follow procedures and policies as set by the company.
• Fill out all forms required for daily operation.
• Follow the Safety Plan and accept training.
• Perform pre and post-operational checks of equipment.

• Perform all tasks assigned by the Supervisor.

• To follow all procedures and policies as set by the company.

• To fill out all forms required for daily operation of an assigned unit.

• To follow the Safety Plan as specified by the company and to accept the training to do so.

• Perform pre and post-operational checks of equipment as well as assisting and performing other duties.

Main Qualifications

Maintainers

Registered & Non Registered trade tickets accepted. Red Seal Journeymen tickets are preferred.

• Previous experience working in a remote Arctic operation with camp accommodations working with employees of all competency levels including developing individuals with minimal experience at apprenticeship levels performing maintenance activities
• SAP maintenance systems expertise desirable
• Experience mentoring, providing solid direction and demonstrating safety leadership in harsh arctic field environments and in the workshops.
• Using electronic diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot and repair equipment efficiently and effectively
• Motivated and hard working with a professional attitude
• Ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions and to interpret technical manuals and specifications.
• Language: Speak English, Read English, Write English (Inuktitut would be an asset).
• Previous mining experience is an asset.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Able to work outdoors in all-weather conditions
• Able to climb ladders / Physically fit to perform all aspects of job
