Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Install and service gas heating units and related components.

• Test for gas leaks and ensure proper installation of gas lines.

Job description

• Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 to 2 years
• Experience: 1 to less than 7 months

Tasks

• Install gas heating units and their components
• Service gas heating units and their components
• Install and maintain meters, regulators, and gas lines between the gas unit and gas meter
• Repair and service gas appliances and related equipment
• Advise clients regarding standards, safety features, and maintenance of gas units and systems
• Test and adjust control mechanisms and check pipes and piping connections for gas leaks using gas detecting devices

• Gas Fitter Certificate - Level 2 or B
