Position Type: Permanent Full-time

Wage/Salary Range: Competitive compensation, commensurate with experience and qualifications

Shift Schedule: 4 on, 3 days off rotation

Hours Per Day: 10 hours per day

Job Overview:

GrizzlyTrek is currently seeking one Gas Plant Operator (Fourth-Class Power Engineer) to join our Valued Clients team at a gas plant facility in Grande Prairie, Alberta. This is a permanent full-time position, ideally suited to an individual committed to operational excellence, safety, and long-term career growth. This role offers significant advancement potential, as the facility is classified as a Third-Class Power Engineer plant.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate and monitor gas plant equipment in a safe and efficient manner
  • Perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, and minor maintenance activities
  • Monitor process conditions and respond to alarms and operational upsets
  • Complete operational logs, reports, and regulatory documentation accurately
  • Support safe start-ups, shutdowns, and normal plant operations
  • Comply with all safety, environmental, and company operating procedures
Qualifications:
  • Fourth-Class Power Engineer certification (minimum requirement)
  • Minimum of three years of relevant operating experience
  • Strong understanding of safety practices and regulatory compliance
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driver’s license and legal eligibility to work in Canada
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in natural gas plant operations
  • Experience in deep cut facilities
  • Exposure to refrigeration, power generation, and field operations
Work Environment:
  • Operating gas plant facility in the Grande Prairie area
  • Local position with no camp provided
  • Home every night
  • Physically active industrial environment requiring adherence to strict safety standards
