Fractional Chief Financial Officer (CFO) - Downtown Toronto - 2 days/week - PE firm

Toronto, ON (Hybrid)

Our client, a private equity firm, is seeking an experienced Fractional Chief Financial Officer to provide senior‑level financial leadership during a key phase of growth and transformation. This role is ideal for a hands‑on finance executive who thrives in dynamic, fast‑paced environments and can operate as a true strategic partner to ownership and executive leadership. The Fractional CFO will be responsible for shaping financial strategy, strengthening financial discipline, and supporting value creation initiatives while working closely with the leadership team and investors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic financial leadership aligned with business objectives and private equity priorities.
  • Oversee financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management.
  • Strengthen financial reporting, controls, governance, and compliance frameworks.
  • Support value creation initiatives including operational improvements, margin optimization, and growth planning.
  • Lead or support M&A activities, due diligence, integration, and capital structure initiatives as needed.
  • Act as a trusted financial advisor to the executive team and key stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Must have prior CFO experience within a PE firm.
  • 5‑8 years prior experience working with private equity–backed or sponsor‑owned organizations.
  • Strong background in financial strategy, FP&A, cash management, and value creation initiatives.
  • CPA designation required; MBA or advanced degree considered an asset.
  • Ability to operate in a fractional, advisory capacity with a hands‑on mindset.
  • Comfortable working in a confidential environment with evolving priorities.
  • Ability to be on site – Downtown Toronto – 2 days per week.
