Job summary

A leading consulting firm in British Columbia is looking for a Forestry Supervisor to lead timber cruising, block layout, and ecological assessments. This role involves both office and fieldwork, with a focus on ensuring safety policies are followed and mentoring junior staff. Forestry Supervisor

Accountabilities (Responsibilities)
  • Ensure that all Safety policies and procedures are strictly adhered to.
  • Leading timber cruising and timber investigations;
  • Leading block layout, road layout and assessments;
  • Leading riparian and ecosystem assessments;
  • Leading data collection and entry;
  • Additional adhoc assistance requirements needed by the supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in a natural resource field.
  • Registered or able to register with the Association of BC Forest Professionals (RPF, RFT).
  • Positive attitude, highly organized, with a proven ability to provide supervision and mentor junior staff members.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in the forest industry.
  • Specific experience with forest development activities such as block layout (ground based and cable), timber cruising, ecological data collection and riparian classification.
  • Valid BC driver’s license.
  • Working knowledge of the BC tenure and appraisal system.
  • Provide a Negative 12 Panel Drug and Alcohol pre employment test.
  • Provide a Drivers Abstract with no major infractions.
