A community-focused food assistance organization in Lethbridge, Alberta, seeks a dedicated individual to coordinate Food Share Programs, manage logistics, and supervise volunteers. The successful candidate will be responsible for program planning, inventory management, and ensuring the efficient distribution of food and support to community partners. Strong communication and program management skills are essential, along with forklift experience and the ability to comply with health and safety regulations. A role with full-time hours, Monday to Friday, providing a meaningful contribution to the community.
Primary duties include the overall program coordination, planning, and sustainment of Food Share Programs (rural, urban, and provincial hub). This includes liaising with rural and urban food share partners; planning for and contributing to the distribution of food and non-food items; receipt, storage, preparing and communicating logistics; and maintaining warehouse organization, safety and cleanliness.
As a supplementary role of this position, duties include support to the Operations Manager and IFB Programs, facility maintenance, warehouse logistics, and liaising with suppliers, donors, volunteers and partners. This support role reports to the Operations Manager.
35 hours per week.
Full-time permanent position.

8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Program management skills include direction and coordination of Food Share Programs; Food Share program planning and sustainment, logistics and coordination, and volunteer supervision; records and reporting of Food Share program analytics; and collaboration with the Operations Manager and Warehouse Team to ensure intake and distribution efficiency and streamlined operations.
Operations and warehouse support experience is required. Forklift experience and/or certification is preferred. Operation of warehouse equipment includes scales, forklift, pallet-jack, dolly, etc.
Strong communication skills are required to interact with rural and urban partners and suppliers, donors, volunteers, Operations Team and IFB team members. The position requires basic warehouse maintenance skills, the ability to perform heavy lifting activities on a regular basis, and a valid Class 5 Driver’s License, Driver’s Abstract and ability to satisfy Driver Medical requirements. The successful candidate must be willing to submit a Police Records Check.
Responsibilities include facilitating Food Share programs and schedules for distribution to partners, establishing relationships with food share and food recovery partners and managing distribution activities, and using Memorandum of Agreements with Food Share Partners to clarify roles and responsibilities, maintain current contact information and record program metrics.
Duties also include processing Food Share orders, supervising gleaning and procuring or ordering outstanding food stock, recording program costs and summaries for grant reports and monthly and annual statistics, picking up, weighing and recording food and program supplies, stocking materials in the warehouse, and maintaining inventory and record keeping by recording weights of incoming and outgoing food and non-food items and tracking inventory and supplies.
General support to IFB programs is required, including supporting Donations Staff and Volunteers with front counter intake when required.
Responsibilities include scheduling and optimizing use of volunteers for Food Share Programs and collaborating with the Volunteer Supervisor to prepare for volunteer groups and daily duties.
The role supports and directs volunteers to sort incoming product, check suitability of product including expiry dates and condition of product, dispose of out-of-date or damaged product, repackage bulk foods, build hampers, prepare goodie bags, baby bundles, diabetic bundles, safety packs and hampers, glean product for programs and partner orders, and cover for volunteers when absent or in short supply.
Duties include assisting with facility maintenance as required and maintaining cleanliness and safety of the warehouse area, garbage removal, and related tasks. The position supports the Operations Manager with program and administrative tasks.
Responsibilities include undergoing on-the-job training as assigned by the Operations Manager and/or the Executive Director, acting as part of the team and assisting where needed, and performing all other duties as directed by the Operations Manager and/or the Executive Director.
