Overview

Are you passionate about creating a positive experience through food? We are seeking a Food Service Worker to join our celebrated STU Dining Services team!

You'll play a vital role in fueling the minds and bodies of our vibrant university community, from energizing students for their studies to providing delicious meals for faculty and staff. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and love bringing smiles to people's faces through great food and service, we want to hear from you!

Job Responsibilities

• Prepares all food items using prep lists and standard Aramark recipes.
• Maintains accurate rotation of food to assure top quality and freshness.
• Manages leftover foods correctly; cover, label, date, and accurately store according to Aramark standards.
• Maintains clean and orderly refrigerators and work areas.
• Ensures stations are cleaned, sanitized, and organized at the end of the shift (including cleaning of kitchen equipment).
• Maintains a safe and sanitary work environment that conforms to all food safety standards and regulations.
• Follows safety policies and accident reporting procedures.
• Assists with cleaning and sanitizing dishes, pots, pans, cutlery.
• Assists in serving food on the line, replenishing when necessary.
• Ensures protection of company assets.

Qualifications

• 1+ years Kitchen Help, Food Service, or Prep Cook experience
• Valid WHMIS and Food Safe (Basic or Advanced); First Aid Certification is an asset
• Knowledge of and commitment to upholding high standards of food safety and hygiene
• Ability to work effectively under supervision and unsupervised
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a genuine desire to provide outstanding customer service
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues to ensure smooth operations

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
