Position Overview

Calian is currently seeking a civilian Physician with specialized training, to practice at the medical clinic at CFB Comox on a part‑time basis. Pay range between $200 – $228 /hour

Responsibilities
  • Assess fitness for duty, including pre‑ and post‑deployment evaluations, periodic medical exams, recruitment medical exams, hazardous trade assessments, and evaluations following injury or illness
  • Diagnose and treat work‑related or environmental injuries and illnesses, including rehabilitation
  • Determine medical employment limitations, approve or recommend sick leave, and assign or recommend changes to medical category in accordance with policies
  • Maintain occupational health records (electronic medical records and other forms of documentation)
  • Provide comprehensive primary care to patients with chronic or acute health issues, including referrals to other healthcare providers as needed
  • Provide clinical supervision and oversight to other members of the health care team within the clinic, including Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Medical Technicians, and Primary Care Nurses
  • Other associated tasks relevant to this occupational group
Qualifications
  • Medical license in good standing from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC)
  • Certification from the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CCFP)
  • 1 year of equivalent full‑time experience working in a CF Health Services Centre as a primary care physician
  • 5 years of experience directly providing patient medical care in one or more of the following settings: ambulatory primary care, occupational medicine, urgent care/emergency medicine
Additional Requirements
  • Regular daytime schedule from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., allowing work‑life balance – no evenings or weekends
  • Ability to obtain a government security clearance
