Job summary

A mining company in Ontario is seeking a Fixed Plant Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance crews in a safe and productive manner. The successful candidate will have at least 7 years of experience with industrial equipment and 2 years in a supervisory role. Overview

Fixed Plant Maintenance Supervisor (Mining and Metals)

Our client operates an open pit and one of the largest underground mines in Canada.

Responsibilities

Working a fourteen (14) day on / fourteen (14) day off rotation at the mine site, the successful candidate will lead and direct the Fixed Plant Maintenance Crews, ensuring work is performed in a safe and productive manner.

Major areas include applying maintenance practices aligned with client objectives, maintenance strategy, and production goals during daily maintenance activities on Hoist and Fixed Plant equipment. Actively implement and execute maintenance plans in a rapidly changing mining environment. This position facilitates staff and environmental safety, and communicates regularly about equipment performance including availability, reliability, problem amelioration, and cost.

Qualifications
  • Certified Interprovincial Millwright Certificate, or Mechanical Technologist / Mechanical Engineering / Mining Engineering Diploma;
  • Minimum 7 years experience with industrial stationary equipment, preferably in mining; and at least 2 years experience in Maintenance or Operations in a supervisory role.
  • Familiar with Mine Hoist equipment;
  • Aptitude for quickly learning and adapting to new computer programs;
  • Possess effective coaching, mentoring, delegating, and communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license.
