    What You’ll Do:

    Government audit and tax compliance

    • Own process for GST/HST/PST/QST compliance, filing, and remittances (monthly, quarterly and annual extraction of sales data, preparation and submission of tax filings, ensuring proper GST/HST/PST/QST input tax credits, arranging instalment payments with North American AP team)
    • Work with external or government auditors to prepare and provide information necessary for compliance audit
    • Manage Corporate tax return process (gathering data from third party accounting firm)
    • Partner with NA AP team for sales tax compliance (ensuring proper input tax credits are taken within applicable filings and accounted for accurately, periodic review of sales taxes coding)
    • Ensure Non-Resident tax compliance
    • Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual statistical information to government organizations
    • Provide updates on tax law changes
    • Facilitate data gathering process with Corporate Tax Department for computation of annual income tax provision

    Financial close support

    • Month-end responsibilities:
    • Prepare monthly sales allowances and monthly expense accruals relevant to Canada’s wholesale business
    • Prepare monthly reconciliation of intercompany balances
    • GL account analysis
    • Review and approval of invoices

    Forecast and budget process support

    • Budgeting and forecasting for Hyperion + Hyperion CAPEX for corporate office departments
    • Ad-hoc analyses as determined by Finance Director

    You’ll Need to Have:

    • 2 – 3 years’ experience post designation in similar / relevant role
    • Superior Excel skills
    • Analytical, problem solving skills and be detail oriented
    • Excellent work ethic, demonstrating integrity and trust as well as the ability to maintain confidentiality
    • Comfortable using multiple accounting software/platforms (ie SAP)
    • Fluent in English and French (written and verbal)
    • Experience dealing with and managing large volumes of work
    • Able to work effectively in a team environment
