Our Financial Crime Technology practice, operating under Forensic Services, focuses on enabling businesses with technologies to proactively detect and prevent financial crimes. Our clients include banks, credit unions, and institutions across industry sectors. As a Financial Crimes Technology Senior Associate, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve business issues, deliver high quality client service and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Working closely with cross-functional teams to provide valuable insights, drive process efficiencies, and contribute to enhancing clients’ compliance strategies
  • Using leading‑edge technologies and software engineering principles to develop innovative solutions in enterprise risk operations, model implementations, tools development, and special projects as assigned
  • Querying and mining large data sets to discover transaction patterns, examining financial data, and filtering for targeted information that utilizes both traditional and predictive/advanced analytic methodologies
  • Communicating cogently when writing, speaking, and/or presenting to senior management, client personnel, client in‑house and outside legal counsel, compliance personnel, investigators, vendors or subcontractors, and team members
  • Assisting practice leadership in creating proposals, budgets, work plans, and other business development activities as appropriate
  • Fostering effective working relationships directly with clients and growing your own network
  • Keeping up to date with industry trends and market opportunities
Experiences and skills you’ll use to solve
  • Advanced proficiency in Java and Spring Boot for backend development
  • Expertise in designing and integrating RESTful APIs
  • Experience with ThreatMetrix, TMX, Akamai, and EdgeWorker for enhanced security and performance
  • Secure data handling and management using SQL, MongoDB, and DB2
  • Knowledge of LDAP and directory services, specifically OUD
  • Integration of SSO, MFA, OAuth2, OIDC, and SAML for robust authentication and authorization
  • Deployment and scaling of applications using AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service)
  • Utilization of Kafka for event‑driven architecture and messaging
  • Frontend development skills with Angular
  • Nice to have integration experience with Ping, ForgeRock, and Transmit platforms
  • Proficient in CRUD operations within SQL, MongoDB, and DB2 environments
  • Unit testing using JUnit for backend and Jasmine for frontend code
  • Hands‑on experience with JBOSS, Bitbucket, GIT, Confluence, and JIRA
  • Knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps pipeline tools for automated deployment
  • Familiarity with OAuth, event‑driven messaging, and API testing using Postman
  • Operating system experience across Windows and Linux platforms
  • Competency in JBoss scripting and CLI for server management
  • This role doesn’t support completion of the Canadian CPA designation

Salary

The salary range for this position is $84,700 - $134,700. The posted salary range represents the expected hiring range for PwC locations in major city centres. Given our national recruiting approach, ranges may vary for positions in other locations. At PwC Canada, base salary is determined by your skills, experience, qualifications and work location. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may have opportunities to participate in variable incentive pay programs which are designed to reward individual and firm‑wide achievements.
