What to Expect

In this role, you will provide financial and analytical support to the Business Controller and B2B Commercial team, working alongside cross-functional partners to ensure accurate and reliable financial reporting for the Canadian market. You will analyze revenue, marketing budget, and commissions, explaining key variances, and support ad-hoc projects to ensure compliance and identify savings opportunities.

A day in the life

Business Co-Piloting
  • Support the Business Controller in preparation of budgets and monthly forecasts for revenue and costs
  • Perform cost and revenue variance analysis to guide the manager in the decision making process
  • Provide financial mentoring to budget owners regarding their activities
Business Planning and Analysis
  • Review monthly / quarterly closings and dynamic forecasts and respond to questions raised by Nespresso HQ Finance department
  • Prepare and review Volumes and Revenue actuals data for business-to-business (B2B) channel
  • Analyse the monthly Marketing and Commissions expenses versus budget and latest dynamic forecast in the management reports and investigate variances with the various managers in the market before the financial reports are published
  • Coordinate and lead all aspects of monthly accrual process with key collaborators
Projects
  • P&L (Profit & Loss) simulations full process until approval, working with salesteam
  • Proactively work with business to evaluate cost benefit of new services or activities
  • Provide financial support for all B2B departments and their projects
  • Support new analysis and tools, identify initiatives with focus on profitability, performance and efficiency
Budget Control
  • Assist and train Commercial Teams to accurately manage their P&L per customer
  • Review budgets, focusing on Marketing expenses and Commissions to ensure budget procedures are adhered to. Analyse efficiencies and cost savings opportunities
Role requirements
  • Proficiency in English and French is necessary, as this role entails collaborating closely with various collaborators in the Canadian market.
  • Degree in Accounting / Finance; recognized financial designation such as CPA is an asset
  • 2-4 years of experience preferably in a Consumer Packaged Goods or Retail environment
  • Prior experience with P&L variance analysis & budgeting
Preferred skills
  • Strong analytical, modelling, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good knowledge of Excel and financial systems
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
