As a Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing monthly financial reports, consulting with and assisting Finance Managers in interpreting their financial results, and assisting with quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting within Ontario Health atHome. You will also work to improve processes to ensure high-quality service and integrity of reporting, forecasting, and budgeting.
What will you do?
- Assist the Director and Manager in the preparation, planning, monitoring, and analysis of the annual operating budget.
- Coordinate the overall budget process, including timelines and utilization of Financial Reporting Tools.
- Coordinate monthly/quarterly forecasting for Ontario Health atHome, liaising with Finance Managers and utilizing Financial Reporting Tools.
- Prepare monthly financial reporting packages for review by management and submission to the Board.
- Analyze and report financial and statistical results against plans on a regular basis to the Board and Senior Management.
- Support in preparing data for Board meetings and collaborate on presentation materials.
- Coordinate with other functional areas to follow up on issues or changes.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Review, analyze, and interpret monthly financial reports for provincial Finance Managers.
- Monitor key financial indicators, analyze variances, and suggest corrective actions.
- Build effective relationships with Finance Managers to facilitate discussions and issue resolution.
- Assist in variance analysis and support budget and forecast development.
- Consult with Finance Managers on business factors impacting budgets and forecast impacts.
- Prepare ad hoc reports, analyses, and projections as needed.
- Participate in service reviews and make recommendations for improvements and internal controls.
- Assist in year-end audit preparations and compile working papers.
- Document processes and recommend improvements to senior management.
- Perform other duties as required.

What must you have?
- Post-secondary education in business, preferably in finance or accounting.
- Professional Accounting (CPA) designation or enrollment preferred.
- One to three years of experience in accounting and financial analysis, preferably in healthcare.
- Knowledge of governmental/NPO finances and reporting requirements.
- Proficiency with accounting, budgeting, and forecasting tools.
- Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, processes, and standards.
- Knowledge of Ontario Health atHome strategies, priorities, and programs.
- Understanding of healthcare sector issues and their financial impact.
- Knowledge of administrative practices and procedures of Ontario Health atHome is an asset.
- Strong analytical skills with software modeling, especially MS Excel.
- Familiarity with Great Plains, Management Reporter, and MS Office applications is an asset.
- Ability to present financial information clearly to management and staff.
- Ability to develop effective working relationships with management and business leads.
