Job description
Overview

Siemens Energy – Grid Technologies PFS Service provides a comprehensive service portfolio including turnkey installation and commissioning, repair, refurbishment and spares for OEM and non-OEM power transformers, AIS and GIS equipment and associated parts and accessories.

Responsibilities
  • Perform complex field service operations that require strong technical skills.
  • The FST 1 may act as Crew Leader, Technical Field Advisor or Qualified Electrical Worker to meet project staffing demands.
  • Troubleshoot and repair of power and distribution electrical equipment, applying knowledge and experience to resolve problems, and recommend changes or modified procedures to improve performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally (written and / or verbal) regarding project scope, safety reviews (tailgate meetings), security or environmental incidents, safety violations, or near misses.
  • Provide leadership and guide less experienced technicians; instruct them in proper and safe operation of equipment and tasks.
  • Perform on-site repair of high voltage electrical equipment including gasket / O-ring work on GIS and HV breakers, gas filling and recovery, inspections and testing. Prepare technical testing reports and time management reports for project completion.
What You Bring
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Electrical Engineering, or technical vocational diploma, apprenticeship training with prior field service or equivalent experience; Power System Electrician or Red Seal Electrician is preferred.
  • Instrumentation, Millwright, Industrial Maintenance experience is an asset; strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
  • Ideally five (5) to ten (10) years of related OEM, industrial, commercial or utility power system experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Class 5 Driver's License with good defensive driving skills.
