Overview

A leading global organization dedicated to clean air and sustainable industrial processes is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to join its Aftermarket Service team. The company’s mission centers on protecting people, the planet, and production from the harmful effects of industrial operations by delivering efficient, environmentally responsible, and safe solutions.

This role focuses on providing technical service and support to customers following the installation of industrial ventilation, dust collection, and exhaust systems. The Field Service Technician will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot system issues, conduct repairs, and support parts and service sales to ensure customer satisfaction and long-term system reliability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct on-site service, inspections, repairs, and maintenance for dust collection, vehicle exhaust extraction, and other industrial ventilation systems.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, recommend corrective actions, and perform repairs as needed.
  • Prepare detailed service reports including work performed, time spent, travel, and parts used.
  • Respond to emergency service calls and perform warranty work when required.
  • Support installation, start-up, and commissioning of new filtration and exhaust systems as needed.
  • Measure and adjust airflow to ensure systems meet engineered performance requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering and service teams on special projects by providing data, photos, and field feedback.
  • Coordinate customer concerns with internal departments to ensure timely and fair resolution.
  • Promote sales of spare parts, repair services, and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Manage travel schedules, expenses, and service activities in coordination with the service manager or coordinator.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Trades education in electrical, millwright, or related discipline preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in field service, industrial ventilation, HVAC, or industrial equipment maintenance (military experience also considered).
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Willingness to travel extensively (approximately 100% domestic travel within Canada).
Skills & Competencies
  • General understanding of industrial ventilation systems and design principles.
  • Familiarity with PLC programming, ladder logic, and motor controls including variable frequency drives.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude; ability to perform hands-on troubleshooting and component assembly/disassembly.
  • Ability to use multi-meters for diagnostics on fuses, contactors, power circuits, and 3-phase motors.
  • Commitment to strict safety protocols and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Self-motivated, independent, and team-oriented.
