Job Purpose

The shift schedule is 7 on and 7 off, 6am to 6pm. Flights and camp are NOT provided.

The purpose of a Field Service Mechanic is to utilize the mechanical expertise of the candidate to support the needs of the branch in a professional, safe and timely manner. An individual in this position will work to keep all equipment in peak running condition through an effective preventative maintenance program and a detailed repair schedule. We require someone to mainly work on Cummins and John Deere engines.

Responsibilities

• Follow a consistent and regular schedule to perform various types of maintenance on heavy equipment, construction equipment and various pieces of machinery at various job sites
• Repair assorted heavy equipment as required to ensure proper operating condition at the job site
• Disassemble engines and reassemble after a thorough examination
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot fuel systems, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and propane systems
• Conduct oil changes, lubrication of equipment, tire replacements, hose repairs, battery replacements and assorted services
• Recondition and replace assorted parts of the heavy equipment
• Must be able to operate and test equipment such as boom lifts, forklifts, compressors, portable and stationary generators, hydraulics, pumps and assorted tools and equipment
• Diagnoses problem areas for any significant wear or tear on the equipment
• Maintain work area in a clean and organized manner
• Produce timely and detailed service reports and repair logs
• Follow all company’s filed procedures and protocols
• Build positive relationships with customers
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Conditions of Employment

• Able to work 7 on, 7 off
• Pump, generator or HVAC experience is a must along with electrical aptitude
• Ability to work constructively under pressure
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrates initiative and strong organizational skills
• Exceptional communication skills while maintaining a professional customer service focused attitude
• Off Road Journeyman Certification
• Valid driver’s license and a recent driver’s abstract will be required
• All employment is contingent on successful completion of drug and alcohol screening

Compensation

• $57.55 per hour
• $1,050 per month housing allowance
• When you work in the field, there is an additional $1.50/hour field premium.
• Working hours are 11.5 hours per day at regular pay rate.
• Overtime is only calculated once you work past your 7 days or more than 12 hours in a day.
