Couchiching First Nation is seeking a dedicated full‑time Family Skills Mentor to provide hands‑on assistance and skill‑building support to parents or guardians in their homes. This role focuses on enhancing parents’ capacity to create a nurturing and stable environment for their children by addressing key areas such as cooking, cleaning, establishing routines, implementing positive discipline techniques, and supporting school attendance.

Applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Experience working with families and children in a supportive role
  • Parenting background
  • Knowledge of child development, parenting techniques and household management
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Patience and empathy
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to teach and model new skills
  • Cultural Sensitivity and awareness
  • Knowledge of Couchiching First Nation
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to provide a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check
