Term: Full-Time Position. Commencing approximately August 18, 2025 and ending approximately December 27, 2027.

Salary: The NSCC Faculty salary scale is based on steps ranging from $74,170.79 to $102,223.12. New faculty may receive up to nine steps based on relevant occupational and instructional experience, with a maximum of $95,478.45 for nine steps.

Responsibilities
  • Provide theoretical and practical instruction in the Occupational Therapy Assistant - Physiotherapy Assistant program.
  • Collaboratively design and deliver educational experiences for a diverse group of learners, including preparation, instruction, assessment, and evaluation using a broad range of teaching practices and technologies (e.g., Learning Management Systems such as Brightspace and classroom technology).
  • Participate in related duties including academic and career advisement, committees, program marketing, curriculum revision, and development; support and monitor work placements; liaise with business and industry; represent the College as required; uphold NSCC policies and procedures.
  • Ensure health and safety practices in classrooms, shops, and labs.
  • Maintain currency with industry practices and 21st-century teaching and learning methods. May teach across different delivery modalities and hours, including weekends and evenings, and may involve off-site instruction.
Qualifications

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:

  • The minimum educational qualification is a university degree in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy from a recognized school, and registration with the relevant licensing body.
  • Minimum of five years (full-time equivalent) of recent and related occupational experience in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy. Currently a member in good standing of the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia or the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists. Supervisory experience is an asset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and email; basic internet search and information evaluation skills; ability to work in a digital environment and use technology to support student experience.
  • Experience liaising with business and industry; related experience in delivering educational programs or training to adults is preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience with WHMIS, Occupational Health and Safety, and occupation-specific safety practices.
  • Comfort using multimedia technologies and platforms to engage students in online and blended learning. Ability to teach effectively online/blended; willingness to participate in training if needed.
