Job description

The Executive Director is responsible for developing and providing visionary leadership to a committed service team as well as enhancing community and funding relations through the planning and management of the women’s shelter. The position is responsible for establishing and maintaining connections with other VAW agencies and other Provincial initiatives while continuing to lead the growth and expansion of Elliot Lake Women’s Group.

Qualifications
Minimum Education

Ideally the successful candidate has post‑secondary education in social work, non‑profit management, community programming, or related.

Minimum Experience
  • Knowledge of gender‑based violence, trauma‑informed care, mental health, addictions, harm reduction, homelessness and shelters
  • Hiring, supervising, scheduling, mentoring and training staff
  • Administration of ministry programs and community grants
  • Fundraising, event planning, and community engagement
  • Financial, statistical and program reporting
  • Supporting a volunteer Board of Directors
