Executive Chef. St. Thomas Golf & Country Club, one of Canada’s most distinguished private clubs, invites applications for the position of Executive Chef. The successful candidate will demonstrate mastery of the culinary arts, refined leadership capabilities, and the ability to preserve the traditions of the Club while introducing thoughtful and measured innovation. This position calls for a Chef who values the balance of heritage and progress, and who can deliver superior dining experiences across à la carte service, member dining, banquets, and Club events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Culinary Leadership — Craft and oversee menus reflecting both tradition and contemporary dining, with an emphasis on quality, seasonality, and presentation.
  • Ensure consistency, refinement, and culinary distinction across all offerings, from everyday dining to large-scale functions.
  • Operational Stewardship — Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, supervising workflow, efficiency, and execution.
  • Ensure impeccable standards of hygiene, food safety, and sanitation in accordance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Team Guidance & Development — Provide mentorship, training, and direction to the culinary brigade, cultivating an environment of professionalism, pride, and excellence.
  • Support staff development and succession planning, ensuring the continuation of high standards within the kitchen.
  • Procurement & Fiscal Responsibility — Select and secure the finest ingredients through trusted suppliers, maintaining a commitment to consistency and quality.
  • Monitor budgeting, inventory, and cost control, ensuring operations remain both effective and financially responsible.
  • Event & Member Engagement — Collaborate with Food & Beverage leadership in the planning and execution of member events, weddings, and tournaments.
  • Develop and steward special culinary experiences, carefully curated to enhance the traditions of the Club.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years of senior culinary experience, preferably within a private club, luxury hotel, or fine dining establishment.
  • Culinary degree or comparable professional certification.
  • Demonstrated expertise in both classical and contemporary cuisine.
  • Proven ability to lead, manage, and inspire a strong culinary team.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Financial acumen with experience in cost control and budgeting.
  • A deep respect for tradition, accompanied by a capacity for thoughtful innovation.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
