Overview

Location: Remote (with national travel)

Reports to: Events and Volunteer Manager

Type: Part-time, temporary

Annual Salary/Paygrade: Project/event based fee

Opening Type: Immediate - interviews will commence immediately. Position will be closed when filled. Only qualified candidates will be contacted for interviews.

Mission: Aviation Fellowship is a unique Christian ministry that operates over 120 aircraft in 29 countries worldwide. MAF transports Christian workers, patients, relief workers, community supplies and medical aid in the world’s most remote regions and places of deepest human need. Operating for over 75 years, Mission Aviation Fellowship has developed into a worldwide team of specialists; over 450 missionary staff families including roughly 50 Canadians and their families serve in both technical and support roles.

Position Purpose / Overview

The Event Representative will play a key role in supporting MAFC’s event tours. This will involve extensive travel to churches, conferences, and community gatherings, where you will ensure events run smoothly and provide a welcoming, engaging, and professional experience for donors, guests, and volunteers.

Key Duties / Responsibilities

Event Travel Coordination

  • Research and book flights (or work with MAF’s travel agent), hotels, and car rentals based on event locations.
  • Create detailed travel itineraries for yourself and event staff.
  • Support logistical planning for multi-city event tours.

On-the-Road Support

  • Travel to various locations across BC and AB for up to 10 days in November.
  • Provide on-site support during events, including setup, coordination, and teardown.
  • Work flexible hours, including some days up to 12 hours.

Overall Management Duties

  • Budget and Cash Handling: Comfortable tracking and managing expenses, per diems and reconciling budgets.
  • Handle registrations and/or donations.
  • Confidentiality & discretion in handling sensitive donor information.
  • Managing a group of volunteers.
Qualifications
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong leadership skills in managing a team / event.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience with travel booking and event logistics is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel nationally.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements

  • The ability to travel domestically within Canada as required.
