Job description

One of our client is looking for Test Specialist to join their development team in Markham. Your primary goal will be to test the EV charging stations and mobile app from the user’s perspective.Full time, permanent role. This is an In Office role. Hours: 9.00 am - 5.00 pm (Monday - Friday). Salary: 60K, full benefits, free on-site parking.

Responsibilities
  • Test EV chargers and mobile applications as an end user to identify usability issues, errors, and unexpected behaviors.
  • Simulate different vehicle charging scenarios (e.g., plug-in/out sequences, scheduling, partial sessions, or user interruptions).·
  • Evaluate charger behavior under power loss, reconnection, and error conditions to confirm proper recovery and reporting.
  • Coordinate with firmware and software engineers to validate new releases, ensuring that updates do not break existing functionality.
  • Record and document test cases, observed issues, and suggested improvements.
  • Reproduce and verify reported field issues from customers.
  • Verify the integration between mobile app controls and charger functions (scheduling, smart charging, load management, etc.).
  • Maintain an organized log of tests, scenarios, and results.
Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience testing electronic devices, embedded systems, or IoT products (EV chargers, smart home devices,Etc.) is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of electrical or firmware concepts (e.g., connectivity, sensors, firmware updates).
  • Familiarity with mobile apps ( iOS /Android) and Bluetooth /Wi-Fi device pairing and testing.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
  • Ability to work independently and methodically, documenting results clearly.
  • Degree or diploma in Electronics, Mechatronics , Computer Science, or related field is an asset but not mandatory.
