The City of Thunder Bay is seeking a skilled equipment operator to safely handle construction and maintenance equipment. This role requires proficiency in operating machinery, performing manual labor, and maintaining a valid Ontario driver's license. Ideal candidates should have strong communication skills and be reliable in performing duties with minimal supervision. Under the general supervision of the Supervisor Maintenance Operations Roads and direction of the Leadhand, operates construction and maintenance equipment in a safe and proficient manner.
GENERAL:
SPECIFIC:
Within one year of accepting the position, must attain Corporate Driver’s Certification and proficiency in the operation of two or more of the following: sidewalk maintenance equipment complete with all attachments; dump trucks; truck plows with wings; truck-mounted sanding/salting/pre-wetting units with on-board information systems; steamers; and jet rodders.
