Project Technologist

Hazardous Materials

St. John’s, NL

Pinchin is seeking a Project Technologist to join our team in St. John’s. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will assist in executing field sampling programs, including air monitoring, hazardous materials assessments, and safety inspections. Responsibilities also include developing technical reports, health and safety documentation, and liaising with clients to meet their needs.

A Day in the Life of a Project Technologist:

  1. Participate in in-house training on sampling procedures.
  2. Conduct onsite air sampling and site investigations for asbestos, mould, mercury, PCBs, lead, etc.
  3. Supervise remediation activities and interpret sample results according to legislative standards.
  4. Prepare technical reports, drawings, and review construction reports.
  5. Manage project timelines effectively.
  6. Coordinate with clients and subcontractors to ensure health, safety, and hygiene standards are met.
  7. Develop and maintain positive client relationships.

Qualifications:

  1. Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and in teams.
  2. Comfortable working in various indoor and outdoor environments.
  3. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  4. Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  5. Availability for outside core hours and rotational weekends.
  6. Valid driver’s license.
  7. Post-secondary training or experience in hazardous building materials.
  8. Ability to undergo security clearances and drug testing as required by clients.
