Enhanced Client Services Supervisor (ECS-25)
Homes First Society develops and provides affordable, stable housing and support services to break the cycle of homelessness for people with the fewest housing options.
Position type: Permanent, Full-time
Location: near Kennedy Rd and Eglinton Ave E
Hours of Work: Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm, with one late day shift required once per month
Starting Date: ASAP
Job Responsibilities:
- Supervise a unionized workforce within the context of the Collective Agreement.
- Provide case management expertise and support to the Intensive Case Management Workers team.
- Lead partnership development and system navigation, including liaising with health and other service systems.
- Manage supervision and caseloads across case workers, including coordinating regular case conferencing.
- Serve as service resolution lead.
- Oversee quality assurance, reporting, and records management.
- Develop and implement programs aimed at optimizing and continuously improving performance and practices.
- Manage employee performance and perform administrative duties such as vacation planning, timekeeping, and performance reviews.
- Implement and maintain a system for collecting relevant statistics for evaluations, reports, and funding proposals.
- Manage city-operated databases and Homes First case management system.
- Ensure effective communication within the organization and with external agencies.
- Prioritize and assign shift responsibilities and duties to team members.
- Oversee staff in developing individualized case plans and support participants in achieving their goals.
- Ensure all documentation meets agency standards.
- Work occasional weekends and/or evenings when required.
- Carry a 24-hour emergency on-call phone.
- Work in environments where there may be smoke.
- Other responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years’ experience working with homeless, under-housed individuals, and those dealing with addictions and mental illness.
- At least 1 year experience supervising unionized staff.
- Experience in assessment, advocacy, referral, and case management, with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
- Supervisory experience in a unionized setting is an asset.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and standards, including Ontario Landlord and Tenant Act and rental legislation.
- Knowledge of community resources and services.
- Interpersonal, conflict resolution, and organizational skills.
- Certificates in First Aid, CPR, Crisis Prevention, and Intervention are assets.
- Homelessness Learning Hub’s Harm Reduction certification is an asset.
Note: The ability to work in smoke environments is required.
