Position

We’re on the hunt for a motivated and talented Engineering Student in our Manufacturing department at our Montreal office. This is a 4 or 8 months assignment starting in January 2026.

Overall, the successful candidate would be treated similar to a new graduate joining our company, where tasks will be assigned relative to the level of schooling and experience achieved to date.

Role and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing automated systems to accelerate and facilitate various routine tasks. He will be asked to suggest and implement new technologies such as robots, vision systems, quality control and preventive maintenance tools in collaboration with the engineering and production teams. The devices to be designed are varied and complex and will have to integrate the health and safety of our employees in the first place. As part of his work, the automation engineer must constantly think about adapting his devices to cohabitation with the human worker. The candidate will have the chance to work both in the laboratory and on the production floor.

As our Engineering Student, you will:

Responsibilities:

  • Design, commissioning, improvement and maintenance of automated equipment;
  • Choice and integration of systems involving computer, mechanical, electronic, robotics and computer vision technologies;
  • Assessment of the impact of the introduction of automated systems and equipment on costs, maintenance, staff training, productivity, work organization;
  • Analyze and validate existing processes, while participating in the design, installation and deployment of new solutions;
  • Develop satellite programs and databases to link our ERP/MES system with production (industry 4.0 mentality).
Experience and Skills Required

Interested candidates should be working towards a Bachelor’s degree in automation engineering, mechanical or electrical engineering or computer science with two (2) years completed.

  • Proven technical skills in SQL, Python and VBA;
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with stakeholders;
  • Motivation and ability to think for oneself, without supervision;
  • Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment;
  • Strong interest in innovation and new technologies;
  • Knowledge of ERP systems;
  • Knowledge of MES systems.
Desirable Skills
  • Knowledge of AI;
  • Experience in the aerospace environment;
  • Experience in a high volume production environment;
  • Knowledge of UR robots.
