Qualifications

THE ROLE

Our Tier 1 automotive manufacturing client in Simcoe is seeking an Engineering Specialist – Stamping Division to support and continuously improve advanced metal forming and automated production systems. This position is a permanent, full-time opportunity with a well-established automotive manufacturer committed to continuous growth, innovation, safety, and teamwork.

This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys hands-on ownership of complex manufacturing equipment and thrives in an environment where continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence are valued. You will be responsible for supporting existing stamping operations while leading new equipment and process initiatives from concept through to full production.

Responsibilities
  • Support and maintain plant engineering programs related to transfer presses, blanking presses, hot stamping robotic transfer presses, laser cutting cells, and real-time monitoring systems
  • Lead and support new equipment and process initiatives from design and procurement through installation, commissioning, and production launch
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment performance, safety, quality, efficiency, and reliability
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process issues, implementing corrective actions and long-term improvements
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Management teams to prioritize projects across R&D, design, and manufacturing
Qualifications
  • Degree or diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong hands-on experience with mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting
  • Solid understanding of stamping operations, materials, and manufacturing processes
  • Experience working with hydraulics, pneumatics, and industrial controls
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, tooling drawings, and electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics
