Overview

Your future role on our team

Your role as an engineer will be to help with proposals, engineering execution and in-plant and onsite project implementation, primarily in, but not limited to, the biofuels sector.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with clients to define their needs
  • Lead and participate in project design studies
  • Lead and participate in designing plans, details and specifications
  • Perform sizing calculations for pressurized piping equipment
  • Supervise and perform design calculations and ensure that plans meet guidelines as well as code requirements and other regulations
  • Prepare material lists and bills of materials in accordance with codes, standards, drawings and other established procedures while applying BBA’s quality system requirements
  • Present technical information, concepts or study results
  • Verify and produce request for proposal (RFP) files, specifications and other technical equipment documents
  • Allocate tasks to junior engineers, technicians and drafters assigned to projects, review their work and assess the technical scope of projects
  • Ensure work complies with established schedules, estimates, procedures and budgets
  • Perform technical information statements
  • Occasionally oversee contractors on site

Summary of certifications and job requirements
  • University degree in mechanical engineering and a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec
  • At least seven years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of codes and standards applicable to the petrochemical industry
  • Knowledge of pressure vessel, piping and API pump design
  • Knowledge of metallurgy selection
  • Excellent knowledge of MSOffice Suite and other applications, databases and interfaces
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks and Navisworks applications
  • Available for occasional travel for a few days across Canada and abroad
  • Advanced level of English to collaborate effectively with BBA offices and/or clients outside Québec. The frequency of English use may range from occasional to daily, depending on ongoing projects
  • Asset: experience in consulting engineering
  • Asset: experience in green hydrogen projects, CO2 capture or oil, gas and biofuels
  • Asset: ASPConstruction card
  • Asset: experience in solids processing
