Job description
Job Title: Engineer/Designer – Junior

The Engineer/Designer - Junior is responsible for managing assigned design projects for components and assemblies, from concept to production. Working closely with the Engineering Manager, the engineer participates in testing, quality checks, and first‑off fit‑ups, contributing to Salford's innovative agricultural equipment designs in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibility
  • Accomplish assigned design projects for components or assemblies from initial concepts to final production models
  • Create and maintain CAD models, drawings and layouts to Salford Group engineering standards
  • Provide up to date bill of materials
  • Update or create technical product documentation such as parts manuals, operator manuals, service bulletins etc.
  • Participate in product testing, first off fit‑ups, quality checks.
Academic/Educational Requirements
  • Diploma or degree in Engineering program or related field
Required Skills/Experience
  • 1-3 years of mechanical design experience in mobile or off‑road equipment.Strong understanding of mechanical components, hydraulic systems, and electro‑mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with various agricultural production systems.
  • Mechanical aptitude, both in hands‑on work and design capabilities.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and SolidWorks 3D CAD and COSMOS FEA
  • Exceptional written communication skills in English.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience in manufacturing processes such as fabrication, welding, and assembly (including torch work) is preferred.
  • Background in agriculture, forestry, or heavy mobile machinery is a plus
