Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and service-oriented Endpoint Support Technician to join our growing IT Services team. This role is designed to provide hands-on support to end users while assisting with day-to-day endpoint administration.

The Endpoint Support Technician will act as the first point of response for incoming IT support tickets, ensuring staff receive timely and effective assistance. In addition, the role will support basic endpoint administration, software deployment, and on-site troubleshooting across our multiple locations, located within the City of St. John’s.

Responsibilities

End-User Support

  • Serve as the first point of contact for IT service requests and incident reports.
  • Provide hands-on and remote support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripherals.
  • Assist staff with software and hardware training and support, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Document issues, resolutions, and troubleshooting steps in the ticketing system.
  • Provide assistance with password resets and other basic account functions.

Endpoint & Desktop Administration

  • Assist with the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices.
  • Perform software installations, updates, and patching.
  • Support endpoint security tools and ensure devices remain compliant.
  • Track IT assets, warranties, and equipment inventory.

IT Operations Support

  • Assist with system rollouts, upgrades, and routine maintenance tasks.
  • Support staff onboarding/offboarding processes.
  • Provide technical support for company meetings and events.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with the System Administrator for escalations and project support.
  • Support the Manager of IT in ensuring consistent IT service delivery and process adherence.
  • Communicate clearly with non-technical staff, focusing on customer service and user experience.
Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Diploma or certificate in Information Technology, Computer Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1–2 years of experience in IT support, desktop support, or help desk roles is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, iPhone, Microsoft 365, and common business applications.
  • Experience and understanding of printer networking and troubleshooting.
  • Basic understanding of Active Directory (user accounts, password resets).
  • Familiarity with networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VPN, Wi-Fi).
  • Exposure to remote monitoring and management tools is an asset.
