Job Details

As a Long-Term Occasional Teacher (LTO) for DDSB, you'll create a vibrant and supportive learning environment where students thrive. You'll bring your passion for teaching to the classroom, guiding students through their educational journey and fostering a love for learning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver engaging lessons that align with the curriculum and support student learning.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback to help students grow.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the community to enhance student learning.
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of students.

  • Grade(s)/assignments: 2
  • Required subject qualifications: Primary-Junior
  • FTE: 1.0
  • Ontario teaching certificate (OCT) in good standing
  • Special Education an Asset
  • Position may be extended
Please note the following:
  • External hires can take up to 10 working days to be processed which could affect the start date for this position
  • A Long Term Occasional Teacher may not rescind a Long Term Assignment for the purpose of apply for and accepting a different Long Term Assignment. An OT who is in a Long Term Assignment may accept more than one Long Term Assignment so long as the acceptance of one does not require the rescinding of another. Nothing in this provision precludes a Long Term Occasional Teacher from rescinding a Long Term Assignment for the purposes of applying for and accepting a permanent position.

  • Provide a current Criminal Background Check with vulnerable sector screening upon hire.
