Job Description

CIMA+’s Energy & Resources team, with over 700 professionals, is a leader in supporting the energy transition in Canada. We work on projects from feasibility to commissioning, focusing on renewable energy and resource transformation. We seek a Protection and Control (P&C) Engineer to join our team, working on large-scale electrical energy projects, including substations, hydroelectric power stations, and renewable energy initiatives. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and have opportunities for hybrid work, including two days per week in our Edmonton or Regina office.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and review protection and control drawings for substation and power systems.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and project managers across disciplines.
  • Develop electrical Command and Protection systems, including diagrams, wiring, device connections, and material lists.
  • Supervise development of station power systems, including load calculations and connection diagrams.
  • Participate in site surveys and coordinate with civil, mechanical, and equipment disciplines.
  • Occasional site work for start-up or monitoring.
  • Perform QA/QC on electrical design packages.

Qualifications:

  • University degree in Electrical Engineering recognized in Canada.
  • Registered or eligible for registration with a Canadian Professional Engineering Association.
  • 5+ years of experience in P&C projects.
  • Strong knowledge of protection and control principles.
  • Experience in electrical system design, including detailed P&C work for utilities.
  • Proficiency with MS Office tools.
