Position Summary

We are currently seeking an Electrical Designer for our Mississauga, Ontario office. This is an existing vacancy for which we are actively recruiting. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge. Essential Job Functions
  • Perform design and technical calculations, material lists, construction details, drawings and diagrams relating to the overhead and underground transmission/distribution system
  • Prepare complex and complete drawings using computerized drafting tools, using AutoCAD or Microstation
  • Exercise initiative in completing recurring assignments independently and applying judgement in determining which of many methods are applicable
Required Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited institute program in Electrical/Civil/Mechanical Technology or Technician with OACETT Certification
  • Minimum 3+ years of relevant design/drafting experience in consulting and/or Energy environment
  • Must be proficient in AutoCAD and/or Microstation
  • Knowledge and working experience related to Canadian Safety Code
  • Computer knowledge in MS Office Suite
  • Ability to work in team environment
  • Well‑developed communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks
  • Effective problem‑solving skills.
  • Experience in an engineering consulting firm is considered an asset.
  • Working experience in 3D design software would be considered an asset
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit or stand as required and remain in a stationary position for at least 50% of the workday.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle, manipulate, or feel objects, including continuous operation of a computer and other standard office equipment such as calculators, copiers, and printers.
  • The majority of work is performed in a professional office setting.
  • Periodic travel may be required and could involve limited exposure to extreme temperatures. Travel may include air travel, during which the employee may be required to remain seated for extended periods.

The salary range for this position is $70,000to$120,000.
