Days, Evenings; 8 Hour Shifts (Subject to Change)

Location: Lakeridge Health Oshawa

Wage Schedule: $38.440 - $53.570 per hour

This position is open to all qualified OPSEU staff throughout Lakeridge Health commencing 2 December 2025 and closing at 11:59 pm on 9 December 2025.

POSITION SUMMARY

To perform all aspects of the radiation treatment process: patient care, patient education, simulation, treatment planning, treatment delivery and treatment monitoring within the regional radiation therapy program in compliance with the Standards of Practice of the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform all radiation treatment and planning procedures to ensure accurate delivery of a prescribed course of radiation therapy including: simulation, treatment delivery, basic dosimetry and brachytherapy
  • Maintain an accurate record of all aspects of the treatment procedure, calculations, dose and all other relevant information
  • Educate patients in all aspects of their prescribed treatment in accordance with the teaching standards as set out in MDRCC policy
  • Interpret, assess, and verify all treatment parameters, including dose distribution, simulator images, treatment accessories and R&V data
  • Assess patient related problems and decide on the appropriate course of action
  • Perform daily quality assurance procedures for assigned unit
  • Maintain updated knowledge of departmental techniques and policies
  • Participate in the development and execution of quality assurance procedures
  • Maintain continuing competency through attending continuing education programs
  • Work at satellite locations within regional program (Peterborough)
  • Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
  • MRT(T). Graduate of a recognized Radiation Therapy training program with registration with the Canadian Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario
  • Membership of the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists recommended
  • Current CPR registration
  • Excellent technical, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated initiative, problem solving skills and adaptability
