Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in commerce or an equivalent, along with a professional designation (CPA).
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in financial and reporting.
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines in a demanding and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong systems knowledge to ensure success in a complex, highly computerized costing environment.
  • Transportation experience would be an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure financial data is reliable and accurate.
  • Provide financial leadership to operations groups.
  • Represent the finance department on multi-department teams.
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of staff, providing support, guidance, and direction.
  • Ensure effective financial controls are in place.
  • Identify, plan, and implement process changes to improve efficiencies.
  • Oversee the integration of newly acquired subsidiaries.
  • Prepare for year-end audit, maintaining timely reporting in accordance with GAAP.
  • Ensure compliance and timely tax reporting.
